@CroiBriste - What do you mean they "could have voted home grown ads"? This is a home grown ad, it was made by a British advertising agency for a British owned company.

The most incredibly clever part is the sound of someone going "Aahh" and then putting their glass down on the bar. Closest thing to subliminal advertising that's allowed. True genius from AMV BBDO.

what's this song

they're not cgi horses, they're real and composited. Not that it really matters though

i like that pause, it ads dramatic integrity, its a very stylized production and thats just another part of the style of it. but thats just my opinion, like, you wrote an essay on it
-

You obviously don't get the theory of advertising - it's to make a product stick in a potential customer's mind, whether the ad is related to it or not. This one worked because it was voted no. 1, by English people (they could've voted home grown ads) in ch. 4's 100 greatest ads of all time. Pretty phenomenal I think you'll agree, and just goes to prove the point. After 50 years or more, THAT ad, and Guinness, stuck in the minds of so many generations.
In my opinion this ad is awe inspiring.

Thanx weeneenie I searched for this ad hoping someone had posted the name of the music. Your a star
The whole idea of Guinness is that "Good Things Come To Those Who Wait" this ad shows the surfers waiting for the perfect wave, just like we wait for the perfect pint. Easy...brilliant ad! Hate the drink, but love their marketing!

You might want to check over your spelling for it.
