God is the good parent part 1

How can a loving God and hell exist? A priest tackles this topic in a Sunday sermon on 4.18.10. By reflecting on God the good parent, and through the story of the resurrected Jesus calling out to the disciples after a long night of unsucessful fishing, we can start to understand that God the good parent teaches us how to live, both in this life and the life to come. Hell is away from God, not at God's doing, but by our own life.
Part 1 starts with an impromtu reflection on Jesus telling Peter about the manner in which he will be taken from Jerusalem and eventually nailed to a cross. The priest shows how clergy remember that each time they put on their robes and that God in fact may take us where we don't expect to go too.
