I doubt it was a plant. Fans in Japan don't sue, so its quite often that you see heel wrestlers attack them. Especially anything pre-1985.

When watching these early matches with Fritz Von Erich, it's easy to see why his sons were great wrestlers-they learned a lpt from him. It's a shame that their lives when end in Tradegy.
