The thesis only covers the first four chapters. Hovind never really finished it, but on the basis of what he already wrote, he would have a hard time defending this thesis.
A straw man fallacy is when your opponent cannot attack your position, so he constructs a representation of your position that he can easily refute without touching your position. Hovind's entire argument is a straw man; what he calls "evolution" includes abiogenesis and cosmogenesis among other things.
