Mark Hart helps high school teens understand HOW and WHY the words of the Mass are changing. Mark compares the "dynamic equivalent" and the "formal equivalent" of how we translate words from Latin to English, and then explains the elaborate process used to create the new Roman Missal. Finally, Mark challenges teenagers to rediscover the meaning behind the words we pray at Mass each week.

  • NOT just for teens! This is the best quick explanation of the new translation of the Roman Missal to date. Share with others.

  • Even though I'm an atheist, that was nevertheless interesting from a historical perspective.

  • Liturgy means "Work of the People". The first worship was in Hebrew, then Greek, then Latin. People invented their own prayer and worship service to honor God. They also elected their own priests, bishops & Pope. Their is no need in a 21st century space age society to go back to the 1500s, or resurrect a dead language. We need worship which embraces electronic art, modern music, poetry & dance...to evangelize a new age and honor a God, who is eternally young. The Roman Missal should be scrapped.

  • Interesting.

  • The new mass is a travesty. The new mass is heresy. Vatican II was protestant in its origin. Do not be fooled. Visit CMRI.org for the truth. Todays catholics "small c on purpose" are protestant. Invalid mass, invalid sacraments. This new misal is heresy.

  • @jootman2222 The Catholic church has nothing against evolution, since it doesn't go against creationism.

  • @jootman2222 Well, yes, we do evolve, we just didn't evolve from monkeys. Evolution can also be called adaptation over time.

  • AT 6:56 he states that Humans Evolve :P

Quote: "Churches are made up of humans and humans evolve and change over time"

  • @LittleFlowerluv :D Yes, I suppose. All in jest, right?

Yes, that was a great video.

  • My priest is dyslexic, so this morning before mass started, he says, "I'm gonna mess up the new translation at least five times. Anyone who wants to take out bets, that's fine with me. The deacon will collect for me."

  • this is a new level of boring

  • If you are interested in teen-friendly music for the new roman missal, check out "New Catholic Mass Music" video.
