http://www.ibm.com/services/us/gbs/bus/html/bcs_banking.html?cmp=usbrb&cm... IBM collaborated with Grameen Foundation to develop an open source banking software system designed to help micro finance institutions dramatically improve the timeliness and accuracy of loan information. IBM then worked with the MFI Grameen Koota to implement the system at their 50+ branches across India serving more than 350,000 borrowers.

  • Beautifully made film. Inspiring. IBM doesn't take credit for the microfinance boom, but only for facilitating it. How can I find the filmmaker?

  • @TheArnab1987 I do not know how it is in India but in Europe when we observe microfinance market growing that probably means that overall economy of some country is getting worse... I am not some economy specialist, but from my own observation I can say that.

  • the idea of microfinance is very good.but the rate of interest is very high in india .i dont know why all the government banks are not in this business?if they came in this bussiness then,i think these poor people can get relief from the burden of interest, they are paying.i have nothing against the microfinance companies, just saying that the government can do that also in a large scale,it will be healpful for both, the clients and the banks too.

  • one tiny loan at a time. *likes
