I'd say it was a normal spider, but... As it crawled up, it shrank way too quickly.

I can so relate! I was out in my front yard at night and almost walked right into the intricate web of a huge spider--who happened to be right in the middle of the web. That was decades ago, but still gives me the chills thinking out it.
