At long last! This medeco has been taunting me for a while. But with a little tool made from the wire from a fishing lure, I was finally able to crack it! Rate it and feel free to post comments on the technique for this lock.

CORRECTION: At the end I say I use a "South Ord standard hook" when it is actually a Klom standard hook.

  • @Furicist Errr... maybe I've confused the exec and protec, I was thinking the exec was the latest. I dunno. Don't believe it just because because I say it. The one I was thinking of that could be picked was the one with the half moon keyway.

  • @zacthebold Interesting! I know the Exec has been superceded by the Protec, so theoretically it should be as difficult or even more difficult to pick than the exec, meaning that shouldnt have been picked either. I have seen some plans like you have, but for the Protec, theoretically its possible like you said, but obviously I havent came across anyone actually doing it either.

  • @Furicist That was abloy executive I was talking about, the older versions can be picked the same way as any disc detainer lock.

  • @Furicist Abloy exec has been out for 30+ years I think. No videos of it being picked anywhere on youtube. Just a computer animation that shows how it might be picked theoreticaly. It doesn't take into account that you would have to set the disc the first try each time because of a re-locking feature. Medecco is definitely inferior to abloy.

  • @zacthebold :D Good question! Maybe just lack of info or knowledge. It isnt easy at all to pick these M3 locks, but there are locks out there which are more difficult. At any one time there are usually a few locks in the world which people are still working out how to pick, but eventually, they all have been picked, I dont expect the current ones unpicked to be any different, but maybe take a bit longer than previous as technology improves designs. Youre right in saying you could find better.

  • @Furicist If that is the case why would anyone buy one? Abloy executive has never been picked that I know of and it's in the same price range.

  • @zacthebold Nope, all picked. This one is the hardest, hence why everyone is impressed.

  • Are there any medeco's that have never been picked?

  • Even though I knew you were going to get it open, I was rooting for you the whole time. Simply amazing my friend. Keep up the great work!
