  • @streetcarjay You're correct, he is the shuttle driver at Marvin Starr Chevrolet.

  • @somewhatlongdong That's not the case now. Tom is now a shuttle driver for one of the car dealerships in Oshawa.

  • It's funny. I just remembered a while back saying something about CFTO and my 17 year old nephew says what's CFTO?. I had to say CTV

  • Wow, I remember watching "Circus", and the "unknown comic". Completely forgot about those

  • I remember well when Tom Gibney retired. On his final broadcast, Ken Shaw asked him what his plans for retirement were. A wry Gibney replied, "I'm going to watch women breast-feed their children at various shopping mall food courts in the GTA." Such candor was to be expected of such a brilliant broadcaster.

  • never seen this before, thanks for the upload. growing up in the 80's all my parents watched was cfto news and i felt like they were a second family. i still see tom gibney around the oshawa/clarington area and have actually stopped and talked to him a few times. really great guy, wish he was on air regularly still

  • this is soo interesting thanks for posting

  • Being born in 1982 I have very few early memories of Jim Perry on CTV since he retired from both US and Canadian television in 1989. No wonder people thought he was Canadian from hosting Definition and Miss Canada. (he's from Camden, New Jersey, actually)

  • It's funny how a history of CFTO is really a history of the CTV Network.

  • Tom Clark looks exactly the same today as he did in 1986!
