Great video. I love the music and the shots, especially the little touches like the tire shots. And yes, I was taught to say Airspeed alive. Wonder what others say?

Thanks for the kind compliments.
All pilots I have flown with only acknowledge the rotate speed and remain silent on the takeoff roll up until rotate (if they say anything at all)

@BeechSundowner This is a GREAT video! Studying for my IFR now and needed a break and a boost! Maybe it's regional. Guys I fly with acknowledge airspeed alive, oil pressure, temp, rotate, climb.

Very interesting restorationaz.
While on the roll, my eyes don't scan fast enough to check instrument indications such as oil pressure and temp.
On climbs I check engine indications. I always checked oil temp. pressure and EGT on climb was to ensure that it's "safe" to leave the airport environment. Better to discover an anomaly there then outside glide path should that have come up.

@BeechSundowner To clarify..gauges are in the green ( quick look) while on roll and then a better look while on climb. Was trained to do one look in the plane one look out. You see AS alive then check runway, gauges green, runway, Vr, Vy, gauges, look for spot to crash if something blows, gauges, all good....go fly!

Gotchya. Makes sense and the more checks the better before wheels go up.
For me, I figure if runup hasn't caught anything and last things I do check after before takeoff is the engine indications before departure.
We have way too many deer near the runway so it's more important to keep eyes outside then checking something outside airspeed that really is checked thoroughly during runup and immediately before take off. This last check before takeoff is in the Sundowner checklist as well.
