This video is a demonstration of the Gamo CFX Pellet rifle. This rifle is capable of firing pellets at over 1000 fps. It is an excellent varmint hunter for keeping your grounds free of those pests, or, if you prefer, for squirrel and bird hunting. Equipped with a scope, a light and a laser, you can hunt into the dark hours when many pests are active. Excuse my shirt sleeve, which obscures the most important part of the video, but I still think you will get the point of the rifle. Soon, I hope to have a video showing the rifle's capabilities in the dusk till dark hours.

  • @SuperiorLemming Plus you have a 500FPS limit on your AG's in Europe as far as I know. A..177 - 22 cal pellet at speed may be more of a irritant to a aggressively determined criminal. Plus the legal ramifications of just wounding/injuring someone on your personal property is something i would try to avoid. Not sure what to suggest but possibly build good rapport with the local "Bobby[s]" or form a well organized neighborhood watch. ;]

    Good luck.

  • @SuperiorLemming Your profile says you live in Finland, I thought Finland is quite a gun friendly nation. Home defence is not very practical with an air gun. If you leave spring powerd gun cocked it will weaken the spring, you shouldnt leave c02 in a c02 gun as it can damage the seals, I imagine the same applies to pre charged. If you know someone might be bothering you for whatever reason then I guess you could use any of these as a last resort. But better to avoid or use other tools.

  • @FyouWanker I have not seen a decrease in performance. The rifle gets maybe 100 rounds per year through it, so it's not heavily used at all

  • bitte auch mal angucken /watch?v=p7a-oGHKFuU

  • @SuperiorLemming The pneumatic type I am referring to are also called PCP (precharge pneumatic) guns. You can use a hand pump or air cylinder to fill the gun's air reservoir.

  • @SuperiorLemming I am not sure if I would use an airgun for home defense. I think I would use some other method, perhaps pepper spray if it's legal in your country. However, if I had to pick a type, more than likely it would be a CO2 or pneumatic type that can fire more than one pellet or BB without having to cock it for every shot fired. Some may be as powerful as a 22 caliber firearm. I don't know if they could penetrate heavy clothing, but if you get one you can always run your own tests

  • If you go to the gamousa.com videos page, it has good videos of Gamo products and shows a hog being taken by a .177 cal pellet rifle.
