@StellarJetman Quite well aware of that, have tried to hit them environmental fanatics over the head with such pieces of truth over the months without denting their perception of noble savages whom worships and respects nature.
Glad to see that there are still reasonable people around using actual facts.

It's called the survival instinct. Like it or not, animals died for your lunch. Would you have died for them?

Technology makes the consumption of natural resources "unnecessary"? Technology is MADE from natural resources, so how does that work? That computer that you're typing on came from a factory, you know. One of those BIG, EVIL, NATURE-RAPING factories that make Mother Earth cry tears of chlorophyll whenever they belch POLLUTION into the virgin environment. How DARE you support that system?!

Do you even know what money is? It's a way to let people trade with each other without having to figure out how many turkeys a boat is worth.
And nature IS a "pile of resources". Resources are things that can be used. If you eat something, you're consuming resources. If you wear clothes, you're consuming resources. If you're watching videos on YouTube, you're consuming resources.
Fact is, doing pretty much ANYTHING consumes resources. They're necessary by definition.

Actually, archeology and paleontology show that the Native Americans hunted many species to extinction prior to European contact, to say nothing of the environmental destruction that resulted from their frequent over-farming.
EVERY creature on the Earth alters an ecosystem into which it's introduced, humans included.

Ohhh, I /wish/ I could have done that... I would have paid any amount to see it in theaters again, and to be alone... SO much better. You can just lose yourself in the story and the world... :]

@monkeycan45 And many beliefs that many cultures had great respect for nature are based on the new age belief which is often filled with lies, basically turning them into theme park versions of themselves. The native americans being the most heavily mutilated example. What people constantly forget is that the only reason those culture did not do much to nature around them was that they lacked the ability and the technology to affect nature to any real degree.
-
@monkeycan45 And yet the monetary system have existed for much longer than our current civilization, and long distance trade have been commited by Humanity for more than 150,000 years. No Human society have existed without an on-going economy in some shape and form. It's nothing that can simply be cast away.

@Cordar earth's sustainability, and yes almsot all species of animals are like that but that is because they need to do that in order to survive, but humans are sentient beings and ahve the technology that makes that unnecessary, and actually mand many cultures viewed the earth and nature differently
