A Short History of the Palestine-Israel Conflict told by an ACC History professor. He explains how the conflict does not originate from religion, but from the Israeli's aggressive occupation and violent land grab of the Palestinian's home land. The conflict started in 1947-48 when the Zionist began to steal the land from the Palestinians, contrary to what many people think, the conflict does not go back 1000s of years and is not based on religious reasons. This took place as part of the National Day of Action for Gaza in Austin Texas.

  • Good points.

Palestinian refugees are forbidden in neighboring Arab countries, or are third-class residents.

  • Actually, Zionists had been purchasing land in Palestine from the Ottoman Empire for a little over half a century. The Palestinians also sold chunks of their land to the Jews when they began immigrating. The rest was divided up between the Jews and the Palestinians after World War 2. The Jews got their (legally) pruchased areas, and most of the Negev (which very VERY few Palestinians where living), which is a useless desrt. The rest was aquired during the wars of aggression.

  • @saloli Well---9 1`1 happened and palestine was offically screwed

  • Of course, the Palestinian land was taken by force when the European Jews decided they had a right to someone else's home. What do you think the reaction would have been if a Jewish homeland were created out of another nation's territory? Germany, Italy, US, etc. If the creation of a state for those persecuted by the Nazis was a goal at the end of WW2, carve it out of the aggressor nations. Palestinians were not at fault for Europe's crimes, but they are certainly being punished for them.

  • Of course we must not remember that it was 5 Arab Nations that invaded Israel first!. Second, we must of course never remind anyone about the Arab pogroms on Jews before 1947. And make sure that the Fact that 850,000 Jews fled ARAB lands and were assimilated into Israel, while the Pali refugees were never given that oportunity, well, lets keep distorting facts.
