I have a 1928 Weber Duo Art Reproducing grand piano (5'8") that was restored 15 years ago. I'm thinking of selling it however I'm having a lot of trouble finding someone to appraise it or at least give me some idea of what it is worth. I also have 2 or 3 boxes of piano rolls. I'm in Layton Utah. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I love the music from the Duo-Art rolls. It's hard to find info on Weber pianos. Bowers Encyclopedia of Mechanical Musical Instrmnts (Vestal Press) is a great resource on all reproducing piano systems. Also Amica and MMD. The Weber D-A grand most often seen is the 5'8"size-model WR. Weber's bigger model was 5'11" ("FR")- very rare. Aeolian had a contract with Steinway to install Duo-Art in its grands. The smallest Steinway D-A grand was 6'2" (the XR).

Hi, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I have wanted to do research on my piano and I found your video. Mine is the exact model I believe than yours that was destroyed. I truely enjoy mine and hope that you can find another and I wish you well in your rebuilding.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. I'm glad there was no loss of life or injury.
I have the same model - Weber Duo-Art grand - usually designated the WR model. These are great pianos. This model was Weber's main model of Duo-Art grand -the work-horse of the Weber line thru most of the 20's. I hope you find another Weber Duo-Art grand and rebuild your home.

Sorry to hear of your loss, perhaps you will be able to find another Reproducer to replace it. Each time one is lost, another piece of history has been distroyed. Thanks you for posting it. Glad that no one was killed or injured.

Thanks, my wife's uncle is the piano man, he loves working on them. Right now he is cleaning up his house that blew away, but when he gets finished, I think he is going to try to get it going again. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment! I am sad to say this great old piano was destroyed yesterday 2/5/08 in a tornado. No one was injured at the property, but the house and piano were a total loss.
