The tradition of crowning a May Queen was fairly common in Northamptonshire, but it only survives in a couple of places. In Moulton, a village just outside Northampton, the tradition survives and the new May Queen is processed round the village in a flower-bedecked Maycart. These days it is hauled by dozens of Morris Men from all around the country and the village puts on a week of concerts, stalls, dances and other activities.
Thanks to John Savill for footage.
