    Byzantine mosaics of crossbow fibulae from Ravenna Italy

    Bronze age fibulae on display from various archaeological museums in Campania Italy.

    Fibulae on Marble statues mainly from the Naples Archaeological Museum and a few from the BM.

    Fibulae on Tombstone stele from Aquileia and Klagenfurt.

    Roman fibulae pairing from the BM, Saxon paired fibulae from Cambridge and the others from various European museums.

    I thought the figure displays were far too good to be in UK museums, although I did notice your photo of the Anglo-Saxon display in the BM. There's some Ivory carvings from the late 4th century Germany that show how fibulae were worn - have you seen it?
