WTFuck this is the stupidest video game level ever. I tried putting a portal up in that corner up by the f-king stairs and know way did I think that was possible. I see its possible and I can't make the fucking jump. Lazy ass stupid fucking level design by Valve... come on this is a puzzle game not a lets see you make a stupid ass jump where you change directions 90 degrees in the fucking air and land on a stupid ass 1 inch metal bar. How stupid. Where's my Half Life 3 BTW??

One minute after watching your video I found out how it is properly done , what you need to do is go back and slide on the orange gel ( where the crusher machines are , in the previous room ) then open a portal after gaining some speed .. to jump all the way to the stairs .. I hope this would make some sense to the readers .. if you dont get it .. just go to the previous room the solution is there.

yes, you are right about the way it's properly done.
but it might be interesting for speedrunners, because you can skip the entire room.
