Brooke Gordon, 7th grader at Normal Parkside (IL), runs 5:16 in the 1600 at the state meet to become only the 4th 7th grade girl to run under 5:20 at State.
Wow I set the record for the mile at my school in 7th grade at 5:14 in 2007, but im a boy. I'm very impressed with her time though, the fastest time I've seen any girl get is 5:30.. but wow 5:16 for a girl in 7th grade. damn. Does she still run? and I'd like to know her new best mile time if she has one.
Thanks. The next year in 2009, she ran 5:09.9 and won the IESA 8th grade state championship. I have the video out there for that too. It is actually a better video because my friend taped it and does much better than me.... The name of the video is: 2009 IESA 8th Grade Girls 1600
My Parklane 7th grade son thought your Parkside 7th grade daughter was cute, but I told him this was '08 so he knows he has no chance! LOL He runs too, I'll attach a video. Tell her good luck this year!
Necessary is probably not what I would call it. Just caught up in the excitement of the race and knowing how disappointed my daughter was after all her hard work. If you would like, I can post a version specifically for you that has this edited out.

She's a great runner and did a fantastic job! I wish you would have edited out your cursing in the final 200m.
Do you really think saying "God damn it" and "son of a bitch" about your daughter losing a hard fought race was necessary?
