The mailman was actor and stuntman Hank Garrett. He has since passed away, alas.

So real. The man could use a camera....the acting...Max...the mailman...great casting all the way around...everything...all so well done.

I agree...todays movies are such crap. I hate anything with CGI.

@ITILII I love it. I had to buy a German dvd of it on Ebay a couple of years back cos it wasn't released in the U.K. region 2. It has English sound though, but just German writing on the box. Also has a commentary by Sydney Pollack. It must be fun to make this fight as it is obviously done in tiny sections with each move filmed separately then edited together ; must be great to see the finished piece all in about 30 seconds
