The days of free balance transfers are slowly coming to an end as credit card lenders become ever more cautious.
Research from moneynet.co.uk shows the average balance transfer fee is now at two point nine per cent, while the number of nought per cent deals has fallen from 80 to 52 since the start of the year.
Moneynet's Andrew Haggar said lenders are dealing with bad debts so it's not a surprise that zero per cent deals are dying.
