this film is an artistic and experimental biography of marilyn monroe.

"...Local filmmaker Kimberly Kristin Angelique's Star Light, Star Bright, is an ambitious and avant-garde-spirited telling of Marilyn Monroe's life from 1936, when Norma Jeane was age 9, until her death in 1962. Angelique - who spent eight years working on the film - invokes Mark Rappaport's critical reassessment methodology to present Monroe's story as a montage of episodic stills and motion pictures, coupled with music and voice-over narration. Many shots recall iconic images of the actress that have since become snapshots of the orphan-to-star American dream, but Angelique alludes to them not to reinforce that assumption, but to comment on the very idea of celebrities in pop culture. Believing that stars live their entire lives as though a camera is recording their every move isn't a stretch of the imagination, and therein lies the dilemma: What distinguishes fact from fiction in cinema's seductive gloss? @yurimedeiros2006: thank you very much for your comment! i don't have any distribution for my film at this time - i did have it transferred to dvd. you can message me about getting a dvd if you like. lisa germano is totally awesome. the day she told me that i could use as many of her songs as i like for my soundtrack, was one of the most amazing days of my life! the songs in this film appear on the following albums by lisa: "on the way down from the moon palace", "happiness" and "geek the girl".
