Minneapolis, MN, NE 8th street - July 4 after fireworks. A blind woman with the refective white and orange cane was LEGALLY in the crosswalk.. Motorist passed with in inches... I was on a bicycle and stopped, still EVERYONE passed, even other cyclists. Till I reached for my U-LOCK and was screaming bad things to stupid people.
Tickets and fines do nothing - TAR AND FEATHER them! I bet they will learn faster.

Ok, so let me get this straight. You approach a through-way intersection (one that either has no stop sign or light. Or one with a full green light.) at 30 mph. As you roll across the near crosswalk someone steps into the far crosswalk (60 feet away). In heavy traffic, you are suppose to slam on your brakes and come to a screeching halt to allow someone, who is probably going to stop once they hear you skidding, cross the street? I wounder how much the insurance companies will loose on this law?

And so the pedestrians have no responsibility when they suddenly decide to walk ACROSS the direction of trafffic? Amazing!! And this comes from me who walks much much more than drive!!!
