Basically, the C A G E D stands for the different chord shapes (C,A,G,E,D). They are played in the key of C in exactly that order, in D they are played in the order D C A G E etc. Hope that helps.

yeah thanks for making light of the caged.. its clear as day now.. thanks much.. same chord in 5 different places on the neck.. any ideas on the AGED i take its the same thing..
