This video shows our Beta version of the final project in our Virtools course.
It's a head-to-head game where each player controls 5 different naval fleets and 1 aerial fleet. The goal of the game is to either capture all the islands on the map or to eliminate the opponent by destroying the player's mothership.
Each fleet has its own abilities, some are fast but don't attack too hard, others are slower but bring lots of firepower and one fleet is specialized in bringing down aerial attacks.
When one fleet is close enough to one of the opponent's, the enemy fleet appears on the player's radar. You can either attack it by getting close to it or try to run away because you decided to call upon your aerial support to try and nuke the opponent.
When a battle is being fought and if you lose/win the battle, a video shows up of showing your (or your opponent's) fleet getting blown up. Other videos also appear at special occasions.
What's different about this game is that it doesn't use the mouse or keyboard. It uses a camera to detect the "fiducials" on the table. Each "fiducial" controls a fleet and one is used to control the point of view (camera).
This game is not yet finished and we have more to come. Our next goal is to eliminate the "fiducials" and play with a touch table.
More to come.... eventually! :)
