@FadedSilkandGhosts So....pretty much you just reiterated what I had said over a month ago. Good job, you just came to the same conclusion as I did...it just took you a little while more. (claps unenthusiastically)
I believe we are supposed to reach the conclusion that in the case of Utsuki, the Kuon spell was a success, where it had seemingly been such a failure with others, like with her sister Kureha. Instead of simply prolonging the life of the "silk worm", by the feeding on other living beings, it was a complete and successful rebirth. I'm pretty certain this is the case, then again, like the rest of the game, it could all be a strange dream you've confused with reality...
Either that was the child spawned from the cocoon...or Sakuya died along with her, and they are wandering in the afterlife. Either way, not a bad ending to such a great game.
@AoiShiroyama I agree. I'm Asian (although not Japanese) and this game deals a lot with the Japanese mythology. It is very specific in term of the material because there are many folklores. Kinda like Fatal Frame how each series deal with different folklore.
Hm...I think I barely can understand how people can say that this game would be bad. I read a lot of negative feedback; and I really think that it doesn't fit to the game, to be honest. I just think that "Kuon" is just 'quite japanese'.Not only regarding the setting, but from the whole style. It deals a lot with Japanese stylistic devices; even the "horror" is Japanese...so maybe lots of Western people cannot understand that, because they're not "familiar" with that..?Or just do have other fears?

So, was that the child spawnend from the cocoon that Utsuki went into? Poor Utsuki and her sister.
