Announcer John Sterling has a signature home run call for each current Yankee. Imagine if he was the announcer throughout their history. It's a journey back through time that isn't as exaggerated as you would think.

  • "It's an Onslaught...from Don Slaught!"

  • @sxp195

The On Slaught from Don Slaught is my personal favorite.

  • John Sterling is the greatest announcer of all time compared to Hawk Harrelson. Harrelson makes you hate him he's so vile. "He gone, Mercy, Little duck snort, he had a brain cramp." That's just a sampling of Harrelson's vile redneck expressions. He's so awful he can't get arrested. At least John Sterling is creative.

  • @allenehrl

It's a John Sterling Hawk Harrelson SMACK DOWN!

  • @allenehrl As a Royals fan who has to listen on XM radio...yeah, keeping Hawk Harrelson in check is the best part about beating the White Sox.

  • As a Yankee fan, this is funny. Love Sterling and Michael Kay, and this is also really great.

  • "Rick Ceron-ie, the Yankee home run treat" Funny!! He could have also said, "Ricky-ticky-tavi". Or how about, "Oh Ricky, you're so fine. You're so fine you blow my mind. Hey Ricky!"

  • As a Yankee fan, I HATE John Sterling and for that matter Michael Kay too.

  • @sullybaseball Slaught's second and final year with the Yanks was Sterling's first with them, so he would have called 5 Slaught homers. I wonder if audio exists so we can see if he used onslaught. Regardless, I'm pretty sure he used that terrible nickname for Slaught, "Sluggo."

  • good stuff, always laugh when the Dan Patrick show makes fun of Sterling. and that's a nice field there in Santa Barbara, stayed on Castillo St on vacation.

  • 10.2.78: "Russell Earl...DENTED it! Oh Bucky, you Lucky Ducky!"

  • John Sterling and Hawk Harrelson are the best two announcers in terms of creativity.

But overall i gotta give it to Bob Costas, He just sounds the best.
