One of the most beautiful pieces of music Ysaye ever wrote. This is the 2nd movement of the Sonata nr. 2, dedicated to Jacques Thibaud.
Violin: Frank Peter Zimmerman (for some reason, I prefer his rendition to Kaler's)

  • some how it reminds of a brief rendition of the bach violin variations, exception

the passion behind it, which excludes bach and his german frame of mind.

  • Very inspirational!

  • This was breathtaking.

  • much more personal than Kaler. Moments of demonstration of the love affair between the player and his instrument. Thank you.

  • fantastic ending

  • Superb performance of Zimmermann and a lovely introvert piece of music by Ysaye!

  • Absolutely beautiful! But I believe the Kaler is my favorite (I purchased the Kaler CD after listening to your posting and LOVE it, I plan to give it as Christmas gifts to some friends)--both are absolutely breathtaking--thank you for posting!
