He was on his way to spend time at a cabin high up in the mountains. He was trapped in a blizzard on his way there, and froze to death while trying to find his way by foot.

Windir was also an epic and special band for me.Being half ukranian and russian myself,his music is familiar to me, it's very soulful music, also folk instruments,like acccordeon sound very great in mixture with black metal riffs and fast drums.Valfar is true identity and nice person. All the "windir" music and lyrics belongs to him. Too sad, that he left us too early...RIP Brother, your music will forever be in our metal hearts.Heil!
