The Number of the Beast

Revelation 13:18
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

what could this mean?
Let us use the biblical rule of comparing scripture with scripture to find out.

Ecclesiastes 7:27-28
27 Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account:(the reckoning)
28 Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not.

The 1 among 1,000 is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ, for only he alone can forgive sins.

Only One man among a thousand has he found for the account/reckoning which his soul seeks.

What does His soul seek?

The forgiveness of sins is the obvious answer.

Who is this one man?

The 1 among 1,000 is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ, for only he alone can forgive sins. And he is 1 man among 1,000.

That leaves 999 remaining.

In the passage below Elihu is speaking to Job about how man can be righteous before God. Elihu is not one of the three unfriendly friends of Job. Elihu is much more on the side of Job.

Job 33:23-24
23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
24 Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.

Clearly this verse too is speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ, he is the 1 among 1,000.

Now we turn to Zechariah for an explanation of the remaining 999.

Zechariah 13:7-9
7 "Awake, O Sword, against My Shepherd, and against the man that is My fellow, saith the Lord of hosts: Smite the Shepherd and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn Mine hand upon the little ones.
8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, Two Parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third part shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, it is My people: and they shall say, the Lord is My God."

The 999 symbollically represents the entire human race, Christ being ecluded as we have seen that He is the 1 man among 1,000.

The third part are the elect of God - 333 out of 999. These shall "Call on my name", these are those who shall call on the name of the LORD and be saved.

This two thirds is 666 out of 999, the number of a man, those who have the mark in their hands or foreheads, the above verses say these shall be cut off and die, this is obviously talking about the reprobate.

And there are at least two other illustrations in the Bible where this is put forth. We read about David, when he defeated the Moabites, that he caused them to lie down in three lines. Two of the lines he put to death. One line he spared, and they served him. David there was a type of Christ as Messiah, the two-thirds a figure of those who are under the judgment of God, the one-third a figure of those who are saved.

In 2 Kings 1 we read of Elijah, that he was sent for by the wicked king of Israel. And a company of men came to take him, and he called down fire from heaven, and they were destroyed. A second company of men came to take him, and he called down fire from heaven, and they were destroyed. A third company of men came to take him, and plead for mercy, and they were spared. Again we have two-thirds being destroyed, one-third being spared.

The 666 represents the non elect as this video and the scriptures presented have clearly shown.

It's interesting because I started seeing the number '333' back on July 18, 2007. I haven't known what it meant for a long time, but I think it's a seal upon those who claim Christ. Jesus being the 1 out of 1,000 which leaves 999. So 666 are those who are cut off, and 333 are those who are sealed with Christ. When you look at the chart of the whole world 33 percent are christian. How odd is that?
