Hi all. If Anyone is interested in the "Erik Cole Tape Job" and wants to know how fast it will chew up your blade, here's a video. I've used this particular tape job for quite some time, and I have used the stick even longer. After about 5 or 6 games, the rate of wear on the bottom of the stick is pretty much the same as if you taped it Heel to Toe or Toe to Heel. The only damage was from a one handed chip off the boards and I took a piece of shin pad tape and melted it on to the toe of the blade.

The stick I'm using is a CCM U+ Left Handed Lecavalier pattern. Normal (around 85) flex. I have had a very good experience with this stick and would highly reccomend the CCM U+ stick as well as the Erik Cole tape job. The difference in friction is immediate and it takes very little time to get used to, i.e 2 or 3 minutes. It will obviously wear your blade down, but as you can see in this video, after 5 or 6 games, the stick is still in great condition. I also use a Warrior Dolomite and will see how this fares as well with the Erik Cole tape job.

  • The tape job lasts a long time, tape doesn't increase the longevity of the stick blade moron

  • @sabrezrule It doesn't increase the longevity, but as this video (and the follow up over 1 year later) shows, it doesn't really decrease it, either.

  • not that bad on the bottom. but try using u strip of tape on the toe and rappingi on each side. that helps with the wear

  • How thick is the blade???WTF

  • @ModernDayVideoGamer "The only damage was from a one handed chip off the boards and I took a piece of shin pad tape and melted it on to the toe of the blade. "

Learn to read before being critical of others, kiddo.

  • @ModernDayVideoGamer The reason why this video is titled "Erik Cole Tape Job - Rate of wear" is because I use the same tape job as Erik Cole, and wanted to show what the rate of wear looks like, something that cannot be accomplished by keeping the tape on the stick.

The tape was removed for this video and retaped prior to the next game.

  • @HockeySniper28 I break S17s on a weekly basis, thank gosh I don't have to pay for them

  • @maxirad99 That's your problem, not mine.

  • @zargon220 It's still being used for pickup games on a regular basis, in working condition.

  • @ModernDayVideoGamer Also, I used shinpad tape and covered the toe of the blade from damage (stick got caught in door or something, was a very long time ago) and melted it. That worked perfectly.

  • @ModernDayVideoGamer to reduce friction and to help protect the blade from damage.

  • Are you a lesbian?
