President Obama - How will you help avoid war in Sudan?

Many fear that Sudan may be on the brink of war, and Darfuri refugees fear returning home. President Obama, in light of conditions on the ground, what will you do to galvanize the international community to prevent widespread violence in Sudan?

Why does the US have to do something? We are pushing 10% (15%more realistic) unemployment and have MILLIONS of homeless now. 13 TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT. This country cannot even solve its own problems and we are expected to solve others? Scenario: My house has a leaking roof, infestation, bad wiring etc and instead of fixing my house first to take care of my family I try and fix someone elses house. Then when I have nothing left, my house collapses and who will save me. No one. Priorities first!

@vipnip I'll tell you why. Because if Sudan falls into anarchy, it will cause a power vacuum which can easily be manipulated by extremist groups such us al-Queada. Or the Taliban. Then what? Well, think about. An entire country, controlled by extremist forces. I don't think I need to explain why that would be terrible.

@vipnip ....actually, because Al-Qaeda always flies to weaker regimes like flies on crap. It's the reason why Al-Qaeda has moved into Yemen...and why we are helping the Yemenis there...I mean...they are not angels, but compared with Al Qaeda...you take your best choice.

Because people are being killed in the most horrible way. The government is committing genocide. Women are raped in front of their families. That is why we should care.

The people below me are very much right. It is not our job at all to be involved in other nation's problems. We tried the imperialism thing for a little while, and it didn't end up working too well. i.e. vietnam, anyway, in all honesty, outside of the kindness of our hearts, why should we send hundreds of millions to Haiti? It is the right moral decision, but government should be concerned with what's going on in its country first, before we help out others with government $. People should give
