  • at 2:09 you did not come under the cone , did you ???? or this this what you are feeling ???

  • Otherwise, underplane or overplane swings recquire additional compensations into impact that are harder to do on a consistent level . . . hence the need for talent and practice.

  • Mike, and all teachers for that matter, operate from a premise that there are a series of generally accepted fundamentals that increase the efficiency of learning and effectiveness of results if learned correctly . .... . . One is much more likely to hit the ball solid and straight if he/ or she has learned to keep the swing on plane.

  • @ElGolfeux . . . .You miss Mike's intent of the lesson with your comment. Anyone can perfect the action of any type of swing with enough practice and talent. We could probably generate a large list of golfers that we quite successful with swings that wouldn't fit a "model of fundamentals" - but that is really a result of talent and practice.

  • Serious?

  • Starting inside is really bad. Look at Ben Hogan or Sam Snead, without a doubt they would hit the cone, they were quite bad players ;)

And starting more up is bad too, ask Fred Couples or Lee Trevino, they would hit that stick everytime, and they are bad too...

And why posting this and not answering any of the questions?

  • way too much info indian chieftain

  • @NickPadwick im sure it was just a simple mistake, he really means come on top of the cone on both the backswing and the downswing. coming inside the cone would produce an insta-hook with too much side spin right to left

  • Confusing, in your practice swing your downswing is inside the cone but in your actual swing your on the outside of the cone?
