Why is it that none of the trains blow their whistles?

it clearly not as the line was first built for light engines and has only been able to have larger locos for 10 15 years

Where is the line to Ashburton? i saw the last train out of there in 1972 as an 11 yr old boy. You cant fool an old fool mate!

Impress me - show me your footage of the Kingsbridge Branch from 1949.

Dreadful- Trains hauling BR Mk1 coaches plus DMU trailer coaches from the 1950s. Final minute of so is at Totnes Riverside station built around 20 years ago.

One can instantly tell this is not 1949.
Train formation is obviously a "heritage" formation. In 1949 there would probably have been a brake front and rear and of course, no BR Mk1 carriages. :-)
