Well said. The old movies had a far superior atmosphere and overall look, and actors like Cushing and Lee were always fantastic to watch. Modern "horror" seems to consist of screaming teens running away from some creep with a mask and a large screwdriver, unless I'm much mistaken.
if you put some thing like hammers "dracula" Christopher Lee plays the part of what a vampire is then some thing like twilight that is sloppy bull shit and is not gothic one bit
Hammer is still great to this day, the old films are the greatist horror that came out of the uk and got what is gothic.
i dont like all this fx bullshit it takes the fun out of the movie and story line and the actors dont seem to act. and the atmosphere seems to be dead in moden films.
thats what was great about hammer the atmospheres the feel of the film and the great actors that got the part they played and story lines.....long live hammer
I say bring back Hammer and use the same technology that was used in the 60's and 70's..same camera, film stock etc. That is the only way to even think of recapturing the glory of the great Hammer films.
