Actually, the protoss' final trigger wasn't archons (he was sitting on those for ages). If you look at the minimap and production tab at 8:19, a couple seconds before +3 armor finished, he moved out.
Now, why he'd do that with 6 archons in his army and a whole bunch of stalkers, well... silver league. It just goes to show if you have good macro and some sort of semi-sensible? strat, you succeed in silver.
