I am happy to say I am fan of Jayamalini. I collected many of the movies in which she had performed. My Telugu friend helped even to collect famous Jayamalini movies like Gandharva Kanya, Triloka Sundari, Simha Baludu, etc.

The success factor of an actress is in girlish innocent face and glamour. Sridevi, Jayamalini, Silk Smitha, Radha, Padmini, Amala, and Amala Paul are good examples.

I think the additional success factor of Jayamalini is her "Udukai" hip. Ok. Let me stop here. :)

Malaiyur Mambatiyaan was a successful movie in early 80s. It has Thiyagarajan and Saritha in lead roles. Jaishankar acted as an Inspector who was searching Mambatiyan to arrest. Senthil played a small, but important role.

Ilaiyaraja came up with four wonderful songs and he sang the title song "Kaatu Vazhi Pora Ponne Kavala Padatha". "Chinna Ponnu Chela" is a marvelous melody of the movie by SPB and S.Janaki. But S.P.Shailaja had two peppe songs. One for Silk Smitha and another one for Jayamalini.

The Jayamalini song is S.P.Shailaja and Malaysia Vasudevan duet. Observe the following points in the song while watching
1. Initial humming "thannana thannana"
2. Footwork of Jayamalini while dancing
3. Beats (Kottu) in the song
4. Always happy face of Jayamalini
5. Chendamarai's expressions while enjoying the dance. The arrogance of a Pannaiyar in his body language

And much more.... This song is surely a treat for music lovers.

From aatukkara alamelu to vaalibame vaa vaa - she delivered quality dance steps , be it western or traditional!

There was a devotional movie - vinayaka vijayam - classical dance of jeyamalini is so awesome!

Of course, nothing can beat Jagan Mohini :)

Even in this song, watch how she puts a vaNakkam to paNNaiyaar, while dancing and moving itself! Her "shakes":)

Jeyamalini is an ace dancer by herself, not just "hot vamps" as media and some folks potray her!

If u watch her dance steps, even in this song, it will show the grace and elegance! Her leg & hand movements in karagam dance will perfectly synchronize! Compare with karagam dance of kanaga in karagaattakaaran, u can identify this difference!

She performed good dances in Hindi too, apart from tamil, telugu & kannada!
