Climbing 463 Steps to test the Black Rapid Strap

I got so many questions about my strap I thought I'd better make a video about it. You'll be happy to know that both me & my camera surived intact. No, the camera did not hit the walls and yes it was free from scratches, bumps and scrapes when I reached the ground.



If you're a photographer then you'll understand the importance of using a comfortable camera strap and for me that's the Black Rapid RS-7

In this video I test it by climbing the 463 steps of Florence Cathedral.

P.S. Mabey someone already asked you this question before, but just out of curiosity, Who films you when you're doing these films? Is it you're wife or child(ren)? :) (I don't mind if you don't answer this post). :P

A similar strap is called SunStrap and can have a metal wire within the strap so it cannot be cut while you walk around (similar to cables that secure computers to the table is a store)

@DKKennedy25 No need for such a feature in Florence I'm glad to say, but I find myself thinking... I wonder what a thief would do with that knife once they realised the couldn't cut through the strap!

I'm worried about the camera hanging to the side like that. Don't you find the camera bangs against wall etc?

I live in Italy and at 1:44 i was on school trip and was at that place and there was a metal thing sticking out of wall and i didn't see it and hit my head and had a nasty big bruise :D

Looks like the camera would be bouncing all over the place if you walk faster.

I was there a couple weeks ago. This video convinced me to buy a Black Rapid strap. Definitely worth it. If any one has a chance to go to Europe for a couple of weeks buy this strap. Highly recommend it.
