Echo 2/81 AR - Basic Combat Training, Summer 2008

From 11 June to 15 August 2008, Echo Company, 2/81 AR BN, Ft. Knox, KY conducted Basic Combat Training. The Cadre consisted of 18 Mobilized Reserve Soldiers who left their families, civilian careers, and communities for 6 months to serve their country. In all, 222 Soldiers graduated and proceeded to their Advanced Individual Training. This video is a summary of the training they received, and gives a snapshot of what to expect if you ever go to Basic Training. It is physically, mentally, and spiritually demanding, but not impossible. In the end, it is a challenge that is worth accomplishing, and a great way to serve and defend the United States of America

hi. Im 17 and wanting to join the reserve i do have a high school diploma,and a 18 month old son. Will i still be deployed if nescesary?

@tania09cierra - You should discuss your specific situation with a recruiter. If you are accepted in the Army (Reserve or Active), YES - You will deploy. That is the purpose of the military, and currently we are in a war on 2 fronts.

A friend of mine wants to join, but he used to get asthma and sometimes weezes around animals, could be an allergic reaction... I don't know if the Army Reserve would take him>

I was in fox 2/81 back in 1998 as a 19k that was the best time of my life good times down there at Fort Knox!!!!

wow i remember basic like it was yesterday. i was in this bct cycle. 2nd plt immortal im a spc now hopefully ill be making sgt this year anyway im reenlisting in the national guard and im staying in till they kick me out im a lifer just like my dad i guess it runs in the family also to all you echo2/81 eagles id go to combat with you guys any day

Man, im only 13 and i cant wait to join the Army im hoping to be in the Army reserve to be an MP. so you know i can wear armor and hold a gun :D
