what you probably encountered was your design being sold in the MARKET PLACE. your TOS outlines this posibility. CP does all the "marketing" and the user "earns" a commision.

i will admit it has been haven't earned anything after 6 mos. but at the same time , I don't have a marketing budget.

Talk about "DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS".

I had my CafePress store open for years and never sold anything. Then one day I was surfing the Web and lo and behold! I found one of my designs being sold by CafePress, at a price lower than mine. They apparently were selling my item on the side and pocketing all the profit!

You can host your own domain there for $9.95 a month. You can also get lower base prices for $19.95 a month but it only works if you have an eBay or Yahoo Auctions store. DON'T list your designs in the Market Place as any prankster can then flag any of your designs as "inappropriate" whether it is or not, just like Craigslist (sorta) and there is nothing you can do except click an "appeal" button and submit an explanation that probably nobody will read just like nobody answers forum questions.
