Reading out my poem "Sign Language" from the book "Poetry Pieces Of Europe" (CC)

I suffered from a second hearing loss in Feb 28, 2010 and afterwards I couldn't hear well enough with my hearing aid. I had it in my ear but it wasn't helpful. I went to my acoustician, to increase the volume and I could hear yes... but it was painful to my eardrums as my hearing curve fell to 100 db ... which is A LOT!! So I tried to get along this way and was bothered by insecurities .. whether or not I should go for a cochlear implant. Even when I agreed to go for it I was again bothered by insecurities.. I just felt scared.

During that I was writing some poems dealing with that situation of another hearing loss and the insecurities. That was my second hearing loss after two years. I had another one in February 2008. Writing helped me to stay sane and also to share my journey.

@309893 the doctors cannot say what caused the acute hearing loss, it came from one day to the other and it came again around the same time, February 2008 and February 2010. It can be due to stress or disturbed blood flow, anything. I don't to think about anymore as I don'T regret the decision which I made to go for it. It took me long to decide but I'm content with the choice now :)
