This is my review of the Kimber Ultra Carry II in .45. I cover a lot of material in a very short time. If anyone has any questions, comments, or even corrections please let me know! Please see EP 5.1 for the field stripping procedure on this weapon. It's something everyone should see before considering purchasing one of these custom 1911 designs.

Gear - As an EDC personal defense item this works very well. It's small and easy to conceal and it's a caliber that I prefer for personal defense. It shoots very accurately and the recoil is amazingly manageable for a gun it's size. All of these make for a very capable and concealable every day carry weapon.

Gadget - This is not a toy and nothing on it classifies as a gadget. It's built for personal defense only and I focus entirely on that aspect for these types of weapons.

Getaway - Give the broad range of available weapons. If conceal ability wasn't an important aspect for the survival situation there were be a great number of different weapons I would rather have with me. It would make a fine backup weapon if that was necessary but wouldn't be something I'd think of first unless size was the utmost importance.

  • why does this guy sound like he talking to a class full of retards :/

  • @ladyfeind I'll take that criticism and try to do better in the future. I have to make an assumption on the level of knowledge of the audience which won't match everyone. It's a hard balance to find. If the "tone" is insulting I'll see if I can improve that. Thanks for watching.

  • Can you please explain what the purpose of a bumper on a mag does?

  • @Mentoque they save your hands when slapping in a mag quickly. It makes a huge difference, at least for me. The flush metal ones have a tendency to pinch your skin in between the magwell and the mag. Doesn't feel too good.. ;-) They also can help with quicker reloads and insuring proper seating.

  • Oops you already mentioned the mags. I hope you get it figured out. Recoil springs is another good option. Goodluck

  • @JungleJimAB9AB unfortunately this seems to be the case with some of their firearms. Id stick it to them and keep sending it in until you receive a new gun. Theres no reason for a 1000+ 1911 to behave that way. Only other thing I'm sure you've tried is changing mags. That really helped me.

  • Skip the first minute if you don't want to waste 60 seconds of your life watching the obligatory youtuber safety lecture.

  • @WILCOX11B I don't think a man's voice has any bearing on his sexual preference. Nor do I believe it is our business to judge. Just my 2 cents.
