Grief overtakes Orissa

Kandhamal is burning and the world has sat up to take note. Thousands of Christians are driven from their homes, entire villages burned, hundreds of Churches destroyed and countless lives broken.

The Christian community is experiencing a genocide and things are going to get out of hand real fast. Unless the government stop the Hindu radicals, then as John Locke would say - then what good is government that cannot protect the governed?

This will either make or break the state of Orissa. 2 things will happen. The killings must be stopped and leaders responsible be jailed or India is going to experience one of the biggest bloodbaths in its history - but it won't be the Christians that won't be dieing.

The untouchables in India are sick of their mistreatment in the Caste System and something like this can set off the spark that can ignite the Indian society.

Conversions have nothing to do with issue at Orissa. It is a social issue and religious intolerance.

Also cause the Radical Hindu groups are afraid of large amount of people leaving Hinduism (the untouchables caste is leaving Hinduism - so the Radicals are mad and scared).

After watching, I can't believe how vindictive and intolerant (in the true sense of the word) the local Hindus are toward Dalit Christians.

Its not because of just their social background, but also because these Dalits (untouchables) are leaving Hinduism largely because of the caste system and social hardships and becoming Christians.

In many districts of Orissa, Christian demographics have risen considerably, as high as 25% Christians in the Kandhamal district (site of the main violent oppressions).
