    "This is suppression of religion."

A church is not necessary for the practice of religion. Why you feel the need to be involved in organized religion rather than self-salvation is beyond me.

If one wishes to practice religion, it should be by their own means, not by the Government's means.

  • @AGeekWithAShotgun If you put taxes on churches which are nonprofit they may not be able to afford the property and be forced to shutdown. This is suppression of religion. The Government cannot, within reasonable bounds, dictate what a person needs to exercise their religion.

"There is Separation of Church and State."

    No, there is not, unfortunately.

"Churches (all) are exempt from taxes because taxing them could possible prohibit the free exercise of religion. "

Does that mean all who are religious should get a tax exemption? Since when does a tax on property (the Church) prevent the exercise of religion? A Church isn't even needed to exercise religion. The Establishment can make accommodation with religious estates.

  • @AGeekWithAShotgun There is Separation of Church and State. Churches (all) are exempt from taxes because taxing them could possible prohibit the free exercise of religion.

  • To young to vote..... OR I DEFINETLY WOULD!

  • I think Noam Chomsky would be proud...

  • @monkeyman1397

The Establishment clause only made it that the US Government could not name a national religion/establish a national church, and that one religion cannot be preferred above another. The Federal Government still is permitted to make accommodations in religious domains, however. Thus, there is no real SEPARATION of Church and State, it's just the Feds simply cannot pick favorites.

The fact Churches gets tax exemptions prove this.

  • The SC debate was the best of all; especially the parts where Newt bitch-slapped Paul.

  • 41,412:5. that's the ratio of likes to dislikes. It would be nice if that was the ratio of votes for Dr. Ron Paul to votes for any other buffoon trying to become president.

  • @AGeekWithAShotgun

Bud, separation of church and state was established officially for the Federal government in the First Amendment, Establishment clause, and reinforced by the Virginia Statute.

Establishment clause was applied to states' rights by Everson v. Board of Education.

  • You can tell Fox hates how everyone applauds Paul after everything he says.
