Perhaps the most significant announcement at Hamvention 2011. At least I didn't know about it. It's a 10 watt HF handheld/portable and in the mobile Elecraft will offer a matching a new 100 watt linear. Also seen in the video is the mic that plugs into the radio to make it a hi performance handheld HF radio. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?! This will be my new next radio. Glad to see that USA manufacturers are finally building radios that I and many the rest of the Amateur community will buy. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these!

No doubt it was the most significant announcement, agreed. The cool thing is that with the 100 watt amp (which can be mobile or base), it will probably out compete HF rigs at the $900-1200 price point.
