The texture fill rate of a 260 is 36.9 billion. A 295 does 92.2 billion. The 295 is a hard card to "label". It could be said it uses a pair of cut down 285s clocked at 260 speeds, or, a pair of 275s. But it certainly isn't a pair of 260s, the specs are far higher than that (CUDA etc) even if the clocks are not, and that's due to heat.
Not sure if you're a troll, but you can't have more than 4 GPU's in SLI (or crossfire). It's a driver limitation.
It doesn't matter if you achieve it with four different cards or two cards that both have 2 gpu's on the silicon, or even 1 dual card and two normal cards.
GTX 295 in sli, radeon 5970's in crossfire, gtx 590 sli, radeon 6990 in crossfire are all quad setups.
GTX 295 = two gtx 260's on one board. If you SLI a gtx 295, technically you are putting 4 GTX 260s in quad sli. But generally a single GTX 295 is better than SLI gtx 260.
@Fastcarsupersports I hope youre not being serious. Because the human eye can actually see WELL over 200fps if you do some research. Example. Halo: Combat Evolved ran at 30fps. Sonic Adventure 2 ran at 60fps. The difference in the smoothness of motion is CLEARLY realized between the games, and if you can't differentiate between 30 and 60fps, you need to have your eyes checked. In conclusion, the human eye at the very LEAST can see the difference between 30 and 60fps. Back to the books my friend!
@100grapes gts295 is two chips per card, which i agree its just 2 cards so should be just "sli" but they consider it quad cuz its actually 4 chips running.
WOOW Very fast!!!! was really awesome card!!!

It really annoys me when people call 2 295's quad SLI. It isn't. 2 GPU's on one card is a bad excuse.
