61 chevy Apache K20 4-53T Detroit Diesel part1

First start after getting the front clip and controlls installed. and the first time it moves on its own! The engine was first intalled in a 77 Chev 1ton dually by a Detroit shop. The vid of that truck can be seen on gmbo6969 's page. This is something that I have always wanted to do and I owe him a lot of thanks for this project getting to happen!

A '61 is getting old enough that I would tend to want the cool old original gasoline engine, but Detroits are a favorite of mine, and pretty much always an acceptable transplant LOL! Awesome truck, look forward to seeing more vids of it as you progress.

Thanks! I will hopefuly have some more time and money to work on it and get some new videos posted of the progress. 3.73 gears and 36 in tires are on the list right now.

What transmission? Still the sm420? If you're using 3.73s, are you switching from the ho52 to a 14bff?
