Too bad they didn't get the wonderful Petula Clark to do this; she did it so beautifully in "Goodby, Mr. Chips" in 1968! Great song, but not as well done here.

Is this song originally from Goodbye Mr Chips? And where is this on or when was it on the stage?

@suddeymur It was in the Movie Goodbye Mr, Chips and sung by Petula Clark.
Sherlock Holmes the Musical played the Cambridge Theatre on Seven Dials in London's Covent Garden area from 24 April 1989 to 8 July 1989. With Ron Moody as Holmes.
It was revived at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre - 16 March, 1993 with Robert Powell as Holmes. This is from the 1993 version.
My CT plans on staging the show later this year.

The Baker Street Irregulars and Bella Spellgrove - who is in fact Professor Moriarty's daughter.
