This is the last step in the preparation process for How to Repair Drywall Brown Paper. Our technician is applying the first coat of Durabond 90 over the XIM Peel Bond. As said in the video, the is the first of possibly three (3) coats of the Durabond. This will create a quality repair that will last for a substantial amount of time.

  • The water that is in the primer can cause the paper to bubble and this will more than likely happen. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

  • OMG - where is the primer ? - paint thiswall with Semi-gloss two coats and you will see Nice Bubbles. - it has to be primed first.

  • The answer is "yes". You may apply a Durabond over a small patch. You may want to apply a bonding agent. The agent is a milky liquid you apply with a brush, a disposable, cheap sponge brush is suitable. If the area is much larger, a small roller brush may be used. The reason for this bonding agent is to simply allow the plaster to adhere to the surface you''re working on. The liquid sets in 15 minutes and has a subtle tacky feel which is crucial for the paster adhere instead of slumping off.

  • hi sir,i have a question..why does the guy doing this look like a dickhead?just an honest question.

  • interesting.... i have 2 whole rooms of this damage by the ceiling where the contractor yanked the crown moling off. fun.... where can i buy the stuff u rolled on w/ the paint roller?

  • Can you complete this process if the brown paper has been painted over already? It is a small spot (inch in diameter).

  • what happens if you just use primer and then paint over the brown paper?
