  • I am a vegan and a tree hugger and see nothing wrong with maintaining land by cutting dead standing trees for this use, this is so much better than buying big box store clear cut material, you guys complaining seriously need to rethink the reasons why you are against it.

  • @TheDudeRulez09 We're both vegans, too. Good point on the big box lumber. Additionally, dead standing timber is called "fuels" for a reason --- in a region where risk of wildfire is greater than that of any other natural disaster.

  • @averagemale2000 No worries, we only cut and mill dead trees or dying trees... NEVER do we mill living trees!

  • Excellent design friend! I've seen alot of different styles and designs on youtube and yours seems to be the most practical and proffesional looking one so far.....I can gather alot of information from your video except i cant figure out how your able to actuate the belt drive to the saw without a tensioner pulley...can you explain your on/off design?? Me and my father have plans on building a sawmill similar to yours but haven't figured out a dependable and safe way of shutting off the saw yet

  • You can use a centrifugal clutch to actuate the drive belt. When the engine is idling, the clutch is disengaged. It engages when you speed the engine up, as you would do when you're preparing to do a cut. Fully automatic and flawless if you use a good one (good will cost ~$200).

  • very well made. i must say tho that the log hold downs i would of done different.. seems like you have to screw a long time to adjust for different size logs.. i would suggest a pipe over pipe design with a lock bolt for that, and then a square welded on the sliding pipe with a square in that one locked with anoter bolt, then the log pinching would have a 5-6 inch adjustement bolt to squezze the log.

  • All living things are just carbon deposits, live and dead. Only human emotion has the pretense of discrimination. A live tree will be dead and return its carbon to the soil sooner or later. If I cut them, many more grow in their place.

  • Good design. I am thinking about putting a band mill together to cut long stuff and big trees. i have a circle saw mill which is faster and cheaper to operate than a band mil but Logs over 36" gives me trouble plus over 20 ft length is a problem. You give me some good ideas.

I don't hug trees but I do love them especially when that log rolls on to the carriage.

  • Nice mill. kudos!

  • Nice saw but let use hear the saw running and get rid of the "Bad" music.

  • @johnnycan1990 i am impressed you spelled kiln right....but got curious wrong...

  • Awsome job of design and construction.

  • Hey guys. Nice machine. do you have any sort of plans for this machine you could share ? Thank you ...
