Wes Uhlman was mayor of Seattle in March 1971 when Congress voted to kill federal funding for Boeing's development of the Supersonic Transport (or "SST"). The layoffs and other strife that were part of the "Boeing Bust" made for tough times around the region, but the people of Seattle met the challenge and emerged all the stronger for it. Mr. Uhlman visited Seattle City Hall in March 2011 to recall the Boeing Bust in this short video produced for Seattle's Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI).
